Shirley M. Floyd, 72, of Decatur passed away Saturday April 16, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Funeral service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be 2:00 PM Wednesday April 20, 2011 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood St. Funeral Home with visitation one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery.

Shirley was born on August 26, 1938 in Decatur, the daughter of Theodore and Mary Marie Travis Born. She married Russell J. Floyd on July 14, 1957 in Shreveport, LA. Shirley attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur.

Shirley is survived by her husband Russell; daughter Cynthia Kreuger and her husband Jon of Columbus, WI; son Russell “Rusty” Floyd, Jr. of Columbus, WI and daughter Mary Grider and her husband Brian of Mt. Zion, IL; sister: Alberta Heinz of Mt. Zion, IL; brother: Alfred “Gene” Born of Decatur, IL; grandchildren; Jon Kreuger and his wife Shannon of Stoughton, IL, Sara Kreuger of Columbus, WI, Ben Kreuger of Columbus, WI, Will Grider and Jacob Grider both of Mt. Zion, IL.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Theodore Born.

The family would like to extend a “special thanks” to the ICU staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the care that was given to Shirley.
